This is my ongoing series where I identify, highlight, and provide a guide on how I’d break into different tech sales organizations.
This will range from pre-seed startups to some of the hottest & biggest companies on the market. It’s a guide that I wish I had when I was figuring out how to break into tech sales.

Step 1: Find Companies You Want to Join
Databricks is one of the most interesting companies in tech right now.
At a high level, Databricks sits at the intersection of data and AI. For years, companies struggled with storing, organizing, and actually making use of the massive amounts of data they collected. Databricks helped solve that problem and built one of the most important platforms in modern technology in the process.
What makes Databricks particularly attractive is that they were already positioned perfectly before the AI boom really took off. As companies race to build AI products, train models, and leverage their own internal data, Databricks has become one of the key pieces of infrastructure helping make that possible.
The company has experienced incredible growth over the last several years, has raised billions from some of the most respected investors in the world, and is widely viewed as one of the premier destinations for enterprise sales talent.
The company has a strong brand, attracts top talent, and competes for some of the best candidates in tech.
That is exactly why I like it. The best opportunities are rarely easy to get.
If I were looking to break into a top-tier enterprise sales organization today, Databricks would absolutely be on my list.
Now that we've identified a promising org, it's time for step 2.
Step 2: Head to their Career Page
The next step is figuring out whether there is actually an opportunity to get your foot in the door.
I took a look at Databricks' careers page and found no shortage of open sales roles.
One of the reasons I'm bullish on tech sales is because revenue still drives everything. The best technology in the world doesn't matter if nobody knows about it, adopts it, or buys it.
As I dug through the careers page, I found open roles ranging from BDRs and Account Executives all the way up to Sales Directors, GTM Leaders, and Strategic Account Executives.

To me that is always a great sign… not only are there entry level & IC roles open, but there are leadership roles open too. This typically is a sign of major growth, but it also shows lots of potential for upwards mobility.
As you know, it is now time to apply… and we always apply directly through the company's website.
