One of the biggest mistakes I see reps make with AI right now is using it like a shortcut instead of a leverage tool.

You can immediately tell when someone just pasted: “write me an email” into ChatGPT or Claude.

It sounds robotic, generic, overly polished, and honestly… most people can smell AI generated outbound instantly now.

The reality is that AI is only as good as the system behind it.

A few weeks ago after one of my 1:1 calls, one of my clients asked me about how I personally use Claude in my sales process. Naturally, emailing came up.

I mentioned that I actually have a full set of instructions / workflow built out inside Claude that is trained around how I think about outbound.

Now when I’m prospecting all I really need to do is provide:

- prospect’s name + account
- job title
- account context
- signals / intent

…and Claude gets the email probably ~95% done in about 10 seconds.

That saves an incredible amount of time because as you know, good outbound is mentally taxing. The research, positioning, business context, messaging, relevance, etc. all adds up.

Especially when you’re trying to avoid sounding like every other rep blasting generic AI-generated sequences.

But the importantly, the value is the framework, philosophy, and messaging architecture behind it.

This workflow is built around a few core concepts that I’ve written about heavily before:

- buying windows + downhill deals
- prioritization
- signal-based outreach
- contextual relevance

Not fluff personalization that doesn’t matter to the prospect.

The goal is to make the outreach feel highly relevant to what is ACTUALLY happening inside the account right now.

That is where the best outbound comes from.

So below is the exact Claude workflow / instruction set I use for my outbound today.

It is long. It is opinionated. And honestly, it probably thinks more strategically than most average sales reps do. But it works.

Copy & paste the whole thing into your AI of choice. This is the raw output, the LLM will know how to format it properly. After you paste it in, have it ask you questions specific to your use case.

Here is the exact prompt/instruction set:
